Dr. Valentino Sangiorgio has just joined Building Resilient. The funding has been provided by the Valencia Council of Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, which has kindly granted the application we made almost one year ago.

Dr. Sangiorgio will work on the research we are carrying out on the vulnerability and robustness of old steel railway bridges.

His recent research activity involves a high level of interdisciplinary and international collaboration including different topics: i) structural monitoring by using optical fiber sensors; ii) the assessment of masonry churches including the potential artistic and architectural losses in the seismic risk analysis; iii) the study of the influence of climate change and extreme weather events in the structures durability.

Dr. Valentino will contribute to making Building Resilient a highly multidisciplinary team.
