First Workshop of ERC Endure project

On June 7, 8 and 9, the workshop “Preventing structural failure propagation” and one of the meetings with the Advisory Board and collaborators of the European Research Council (ERC) ENDURE project took place.

June 7. We visited the test site in Alberic (Valencia), where we recently carried out various tests on a full-scale precast building structure subjected to the sudden removal of a column.

June 8. Interesting presentations related to preventing structural failure propagation were given by the invited experts to the workshop. This Lectures session was live streamed on our YouTube channel and is now available in the video below.

June 9. A working session of the ERC Endure project took place, in which important topics of the project were discussed, such as the general research plan and strategic aspects, the development of WP1 and risk assessment, and the preliminary design of fuses and planned experimental campaign.

We welcomed recognized experts in progressive collapse and structural engineering from all over the world, with whom we shared two working days that were greatly beneficial for the advancement of the project.

Thanks to the invited participants for being with us: Rigoberto Burgueño, Jason Ingham, Luca Pelà, Antoni Cladera, David Stevens, Itsaso Arrayago, Uwe Starossek and Bing Li.
