The services offered by our group focus on thematic areas where we have long-standing experience. Below is a non-exhaustive list of the most important services we offer, focusing on the experimental field of large-scale testing.
Progressive collapse and robustness of structures
- Design of robust building and bridge structures against extreme events, both in their service and construction phases, and adapted to the most advanced current regulations at international level (Structural Code – Spain, Eurocodes – Europe, GSA and DoD – USA).
- Prevention and prediction of failures and collapses in bridges and buildings.
- Reinforcement of existing structures to improve their robustness against extreme events such as terrorist attacks, impacts, floods, tsunamis, etc.
Structural assessment and intervention
- Structural vulnerability studies.
- Multi-risk assessment of structures.
- Structural diagnosis studies and assessment of the remaining useful life of structures.
- Rehabilitation and structural strengthening.
- Studies of the performance of elements and their mechanical characterisation.
Product-construction design
- Design by means of computational simulation for the definition of product specifications.
- Use of Deep Learning and Design of Experiments (DoE) techniques for the readjustment and final definition of the products.
- Generation of prototypes.
- Assistance in the drafting of projects.
- Testing characterisation of products.
- Manufacture and implementation of products in the market.
- Building construction processes design using the shoring of successive levels of floors system.

Some months ago, the LIC company contacted us in order to start a new collaboration associated with defining new disinfection techniques for railway carriages, airplanes and buses.
Load tests on a bridge structure
A year ago we tested a 20 m long complete railway bridge span at the ICITECH laboratories together with one of its cross girders. The idea was
Building Resilient helps to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic
When the present SARS-CoV-2 crisis began it worried us to think that we would probably not be able to use our knowledge and labs to help to
