This line involves evaluating both historical and more recent existing structures. The research is also focused on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), including the design, production and use of fibre optic sensors for monitoring, in partnership with the UPV’s Calsens spin-off company.
The research also extends to the development of strategies and automated data processing methodologies for bridging the gap between data acquisition and decision-making.
This includes dealing with environmental and operational variability, facilitating structural diagnosis, as well as applying risk analysis and multi-criteria decision analysis for cost-effective management of existing structures.
