The first workshop of the Pont3 project took place on January 25, 26 and 27 at the Universidade de Vigo. This kick-off meeting allowed us to plan and discuss key aspects of the project among team members from all the research groups involved: Building Resilient of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), the Applied Geotechnologies group (GeoTech) of the Universidade de Vigo and the Analysis and Technology of Structures and Materials group (ATEM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
On January 25th, the project objectives and general workplan were presented and the first work packages were discussed in detail.
On January 26th, we discussed future work packages and laboratory tests as well as project coordination. We also met with the GeoTech research group.
On January 27th, we visited the GeoTech laboratories and the O Barqueiro bridge.
In the Pont3 project, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation, we are proposing inspection and monitoring techniques to prevent failure propagation in steel and masonry bridges.
