We have just done another test on the Ferrandet bridge span in the ICITECH laboratories to analyse its robustness after the failure of some elements. The results obtained show that the bridge is extremely robust as the damage caused by the failure of various elements was not propagated to the other components. We are now designing a monitoring system to avoid propagation of local damage in steel truss bridges.
