The Encast project has reached a major milestone with the successful completion of its experimental testing campaign, marking significant progress in the development of innovative precast structural connections.
At the first test, the team carried out one of the key subassembly trials designed to evaluate the performance of the new precast connection under collapse conditions. Using two hydraulic jacks, we simulated a structural failure scenario while monitoring the behavior of the subassembly with more than 100 sensors and multiple high-resolution cameras to capture every detail.
A few weeks ago, the final subassembly test of the campaign was performed, officially concluding the experimental phase of the project. This test also focused on the collapse simulation of an innovative precast connection, developed in collaboration with Consolis-Tecnyconta, a key industry partner on this project.
The extensive instrumentation and video documentation collected throughout the campaign will now be analyzed to advance the project’s next phase.
