Jose Adam has just received the Researcher of the Year Special Award at the 3rd edition of the UPV Research Awards celebrated at Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). The ceremony for the Research Awards 2024 was held on January 15 at the UPV, celebrating remarkable achievements in various scientific fields.
Jose Adam, professor at the UPV, researcher at the ICITECH institute, and Chair of the Building Resilient group, was recognized for his groundbreaking research on building resilience and progressive collapse. Part of This work was recently featured on the cover of Nature for the research about “Arresting failure propagation in buildings through collapse isolation.”
Prof. Jose Adam expressed his gratitude and emphasized the importance of continuous research and resilience in addressing global challenges.
Another highlight of the night was an inspiring speech delivered by María Luz Gerbaudo, who shared powerful insights on the resilience of structures and the prevention of progressive collapse. Maria Luz captivated the audience with her thought-provoking words on building resilience, reminding us of the importance of keeping buildings safe to protect human safety.
